Journal of Central and Eastern Europe

‘Journal of Central and Eastern Europe’ launched in January 2014, issued twice a year,  is the official scholarly journal of the European Studies Faculty in Wyższa Szkoła Gospodarki Krajowej in Kutno.

The journal provides a place for  scientific research, ideas and discussions  dedicated to political and social sciences, contemporary international relations and European studies.         

All the submitted papers are double – blind peer-reviewed by high-level, independent  reviewers (from outside the academic institution or another place of work  the Author of the text is affiliated in) evaluate each article. Each review contains  an unambiguous resolution approving or rejecting publication.

It is an open access or, more precisely – open choice journal, and an electronic version of each issue is entirely free of charge available on a web site under the Creative Commons licence  (CC BY-NC-ND 3.0), and the printed version available in traditional distribution. Publications in the journal are free of charge.

The journal is entered into the Register of Newspapers and Magazines under no. 1413 and confirmed ISSN 2353-8392.


1. The editor board makes the initial selection of the received texts comparing their subject matters journal profile and compliance with the editorial requirements.

2. The initially accepted texts/manuscripts are submitted to two independent reviewers of the cooperating with the editors. At least one of the reviewers should be affiliated in a foreign institution in case of texts in foreign languages.

3. Double-blind review process is the standard procedure.

4. The reviewers evaluate the texts completing the form available on the website of the journal: http://wsgk.com.pl/wydawnictwo/wse/wse-czasopismo

5. A review is intended to provide an opinion, i.e. the editorial board shall take a final decision accepting or rejecting the text.

6. The detailed principles of reviewing articles comply with the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education included in a brochure containing descriptions of good practice in review procedures in science.

1. Authors who wish to publish articles, reports, reviews or communications should send their texts to the chief editor. The editorial board expect articles related to political and social science, international relations or European studies. 

2. The proposed texts are reviewed.

3. The texts intended to be published in the journal, summary and the titles  shall be prepared in Polish, English or Ukrainian languages.

4. Summary in Polish, English or Ukrainian languages shall comprise of 100 words and refer to the aim, assumptions, research performance and conclusions.

5. The key words in Polish, English or Ukrainian languages shall clearly show the core of considerations and match the categories  with the area of research

6. Information (in Polish, English or Ukrainian) about the Author includes: name and surname, academic degree, place of work and the email address.

7. Texts in WORD and TeX format, font size: 12 TnR, leading 1,5 shall be emailed to the editor. The editor reserves the right to introduce changes to the texts.

8. Texts shall be divided into numbered, entitled parts.

9. Texts, including footnotes, shall not exceed 22, peer review 8, and a scientific report 6 standardised pages, The editor reserves the right to make cuts and corrections agreed with the Author.

10. To distinguish portions of the text use space-out print.

11. Each table, chart or graph shall be numbered, title and source. Numbers and titles shall be drawn above, and bibliographic descriptions of sources below illustrations. 

12. Foreign inclusions shall be italicized, quotations enclosed in quotation marks (do not use italics). Titles of books mentioned in the text shall be italicized without quotation marks, in footnotes only titles of books and articles shall be italicized

13. If available, a link to publicly accessible www and URL addresses shall be provided with the date of the access of the edition cited [between square brackets].

14. Footnotes, shall be presented at the bottom of each page

15. Bibliographic descriptions shall meet The International Standard Bibliographic Description (ISBD).

The publisher of ‘Journal of Central and Eastern Europe’ is Wyższa Szkoła Gospodarki Krajowej in Kutno (ul. Lelewela 7, 99-300 Kutno, tel. +48 24 355 83 40).

The School was founded in  1998 as a higher education institution. The high quality of the offered education levelis regularlypositively confirmed by Polish Accreditation Committee.

We employ and cooperate with a large group of doctors and professors  with extensive scientific and educational experience who create learning environment for students in many professional fields.

Our academic community remains open to new forms and methods of studies within graduate, and postgraduate courses. 

We provide a place for the development of the cultural and social dialogues as to discharge our duty to support local community. 

Our engagement covers also abroad cooperation with foreign research centres and universities.
